Hanania Travel Victims Approach Parliament, Demand Return of Rights and Funds

A number of victims of the Hanania Travel Umrah case, along with their legal counsel, visited Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to seek assistance from lawmakers in recovering their rights. Victim representative Uli Amelia Septriani stated that, based on independent data collection, there are approximately 3,000 prospective pilgrims who fell victim to the alleged Hanania Travel fraud. She said they have suffered both material and non-material losses.

“We did not steal, we did not rob, we are only asking for what is rightfully ours to be returned,” Uli said during a meeting with Commission III at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6/2026). She assessed that Hanania Travel committed a very fatal management error. Consequently, she suspects there are indications of money laundering (TPPU).

According to her, this suspicion arose because, amid the various controversies, there was a case where a pilgrim fully paid for their departure on 26 May 2026. However, two days later, the money paid was allegedly already gone after the travel owner was apprehended by the police. “Two days later the money was gone. Logically, that is impossible. Something very wrong has happened within Hanania’s management,” she said.
