Hanania Travel Owner Taken to Metro Jaya Police HQ for Mediation at SPKT Building

JAKARTA - Hanania Travel owner Farhan was taken to Metro Jaya Police Headquarters by disappointed umrah pilgrims on Thursday (28 May 2026) afternoon. As of 5:10 pm WIB, the pilgrims and Hanania Travel representatives remained inside the Integrated Police Service Centre (SPKT) building. Earlier, the pilgrims visited Hanania Travel’s branch at EightyEight Building in Kota Kasablanka Mall, South Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon. Around 12:00 pm WIB, the pilgrims heard clarifications from Hanania Travel and attempted mediation. However, the mediation yielded no results, prompting the pilgrims to take the travel agency owner and company representatives to Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. Selvi (not her real name), one of the pilgrims, said the group arrived at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters around 3:00 pm WIB and immediately proceeded to the SPKT room in the One-Stop Service Building to continue mediation. She stressed that no police report had been filed yet, as the pilgrims were still seeking a middle ground with the travel agency. “No, not yet as far as police reports are concerned. But we wanted to exert pressure to get Farhan to give a clear assurance, so we brought him for mediation at the police headquarters,” Selvi said during an interview at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday. She added that the mediation process was protracted as Hanania Travel had not provided clear solutions to pilgrims who had suffered losses amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah. “People came from Bandung, Bogor, and elsewhere. Ultimately, everyone wants a refund to ensure fairness,” she said. As of publication, the pilgrims and Hanania Travel’s owner were still mediating inside the One-Stop Service Building. The first group to miss their umrah departure was the Syawal cohort, scheduled for March to April 2026. Mareta, a Syawal cohort pilgrim, said preparations for the pilgrimage had initially been well underway.
