Police have revealed new facts regarding the alleged fraud and embezzlement of Umrah travel funds involving the President Director of PT Khazanah Tamma Internasional, or Hanania Group Travel, Ahmad Syah Farhan (ASF).

From the results of the investigation, it has been revealed that the money deposited by prospective pilgrims was used for purposes unrelated to the pilgrimage departure process. “The results of the interrogation of the suspect show that the funds were partially used for interests outside of the pilgrims’ Umrah travel needs,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, during a press conference on Tuesday (2/6).

According to the ongoing investigation, Iman noted that the funds were also used by the suspect to pay several influencers to promote Umrah packages. “Furthermore, a portion was also used to pay influencers, as previously questioned, for marketing purposes,” Iman added.

Previously, police officially named the President Director of PT Khazanly Tamma Internasional, or Hanania Group, identified by the initials Ahmad Syah Farhan (ASF), as a suspect in the alleged fraud and embezzlement of Umrah travel funds on Friday (29/5). The designation of Farhan as a suspect was carried out through a case review mechanism. Investigators are currently completing the case files, including witness statements, suspect testimony, and other supporting evidence.

“ASF was named a suspect on 29 May 2026. Subsequently, the individual was detained at the Detention Centre of the Directorate of Detention and Evidence of the Metro Jaya Regional Police,” stated the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, in a statement on Saturday (30/5).

In this case, Farhan faces charges under Article 492 of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 607 of the Criminal Code.
