Hanania Group Umrah Director Proposes Two Options Amid Disappointed Pilgrims' Outcry
Umrah pilgrims expressed disappointment after discovering they were victims of fraud by Hanania Group Travel Agency. They vented their emotions at Hanania Travel’s office in Tower 88, 20th floor, Kota Kasablanka (Kokas), South Jakarta on Friday, 29 May 2026, after failing to depart for Mecca. Hanania Group Director Ahmad Syah Farhan (ASF) stated that pilgrims scheduled for June and July departures could not proceed due to the issue. He apologised and acknowledged their disappointment. ‘We understand the disappointment, fatigue from waiting, and anger from you. But I am here to explain the company’s actions as part of our responsibility,’ said Ahmad Syah Farhan, quoted from TikTok account @dwiutariri. ‘I am personally here not to evade the problem but to face you directly and offer Hanania’s proposed solutions,’ he added. ASF proposed two options for affected pilgrims. The first is rescheduling departures over the next six months with price adjustments, in collaboration with other travel agencies under a Joint Operation. Hanania will be responsible for accommodation, with the partner agency handling departures. ‘Due to external factors such as aviation fuel costs, those choosing this option will face price adjustments,’ he explained. The second option is a refund for those who choose it.
