Jakarta — PT Bank KEB Hana Indonesia (Hana Bank) has distributed donations to orphaned children and elderly underprivileged individuals through the Ramadan Charity Hana programme (SederHana), which was held as part of the bank’s charitable initiatives during Ramadan.

Hana Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Yung Ryul Ko stated that the activity demonstrates the company’s commitment to serving communities in need.

“Through SederHana, we hope to continue sharing happiness and providing tangible benefits to communities in need,” said Yung Ryul Ko in a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday.

The donations were channelled to the Guru Kita Gusti Hamlet Foundation, a social, educational and religious organisation that has provided support to orphaned children and elderly underprivileged women since 2015.

The donation handover ceremony was conducted at Hana Bank’s head office in South Jakarta by Yung Ryul Ko and senior management on Friday (13 March).

As part of the programme, Hana Bank invited orphaned children to visit its Mangkuluhur branch office in South Jakarta to participate in financial literacy education and learn about banking operations from an early age.

Additionally, the company distributed food packages to outsourced workers at its head office as an expression of appreciation for their support in company operations.

Funds for the SederHana activity came from corporate contributions and employee participation through a Ramadan Market, where 10 per cent of sales proceeds were donated to support the social initiative.

The programme is one of Hana Bank’s regular annual Ramadan activities, aimed at fostering social responsibility both within the company and in the wider community.
