HAN 2026: Make child protection a culture in daily life
Central Lombok Regent, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Lalu Pathul Bahri has invited all levels of society to make child protection a culture in daily life. “Every child has the right to live, grow, develop, and participate fairly in accordance with human dignity,” said Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri during the 2026 National Children’s Day (HAN) commemoration ceremony in Central Lombok on Thursday. He stated that the 2026 HAN commemoration is a momentum to strengthen the collective commitment to fulfilling children’s rights and providing protection from various forms of violence and discrimination. “Children must also receive protection from violence and discrimination,” he said. “The family is the first and foremost protector for a child,” said Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri. However, all elements of society, according to him, also have a responsibility to provide a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment for children’s growth and development. He also reminded of the importance of providing protection to children, not only at home, school, and public spaces, but also in the digital space. According to him, children must be equipped with knowledge and guidance to avoid bullying, exploitation, and various forms of violence in the digital world. He hopes that the children of Central Lombok can grow into a generation that is healthy, intelligent, with strong character, competitive, and capable of bringing progress to the region and the nation. “Loving children means loving the future of Central Lombok and the future of Indonesia. Let us together protect children, listen to their voices, and provide ample space so they can grow and achieve their dreams,” said Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri.
