Hamzah Ladema: 15 Years of Service for Residents of Central Sulawesi's Outermost Island
At the eastern tip of the outermost island in Central Sulawesi, Bripka Hamzah Ladema is present to serve the community. The community police officer (Bhabinkamtibmas) for Sonit Village, Bokan Kepulauan District, Banggai Laut Regency, has been on duty for approximately 15 years as a tangible representation of the state in a remote corner of the country.
The greatest challenge Hamzah faces as a Bhabinkamtibmas in Sonit Village is the terrain. The village’s location on an outermost island means Hamzah sometimes struggles to access boats, especially during extreme weather.
However, these conditions have not dampened his spirit to help the residents. Hamzah is always there for the community, for instance, assisting fishermen and helping women with seaweed cultivation.
Occasionally, Hamzah also helps teach children at the school. He aims to be a solution for the residents under his guidance.
