Hammering the point
Hammering the point
From Warta Kota
The director general of transportation has issued a decision
dated Oct. 15, 2003 stipulating that all public buses must have
with hammers and fire extinguishers.
This decision is a response to several accidents involving
public buses in which many passengers died because the windows
could not be manually opened.
Ideally, each bus is provided with four hammers so that the
passengers will not fight with one another to get hold of a
hammer in case of an accident.
For the same reason, the state railway company PT Kereta Api
Indonesia should also provide trains, especially executive
trains, with hammers.
