Hamas: Escalation of Attacks on Gaza Aims to Derail Ceasefire Agreement

Istanbul (ANTARA) - Hamas has accused Israel of deliberately intensifying its attacks on the Gaza Strip to derail the understanding reached with mediators and the United States regarding the implementation of a new phase of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement, the Palestinian resistance group said the Zionist military strikes since Sunday morning have killed more than 18 Palestinians and wiped out an entire family.

The bombing constitutes a “deliberate escalation by the war criminal Netanyahu to disrupt the understanding reached with mediators, including the US government, to finalise the implementation of the ceasefire agreement,” Hamas said.

Hamas called on the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire to “fulfil their responsibilities”, condemning the Israeli attacks and urging immediate pressure on Israel to stop the aggression and comply with the ceasefire agreement.

Describing the Israeli attacks as “war crimes and crimes against humanity”, Hamas called on the international community to take legal measures and ensure the Zionist regime is held accountable for its actions.

They also urged steps to protect Palestinian civilians, who are increasingly vulnerable due to “threats of genocide and displacement”.

On Friday, the Board of Peace and US President Donald Trump announced an agreement that the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire could be implemented.

They confirmed that Hamas had agreed to a detailed roadmap regarding the process.

However, the Zionist regime of Israel has yet to issue an official response to this development.
