Hamas Calls on the Islamic World Following the Martyrdom of Ali Larijani
GAZA — The armed resistance faction Hamas has once again called for unity and Islamic solidarity towards Iran. This statement follows the martyrdom of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Through an open statement, Hamas reminds that the killings carried out by Zionist Israel and the United States (US) against leaders in Iran represent a continuation of crimes targeting the entire Middle East region.
“We, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), extend our deepest condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, and all its people over the passing of Ali Larijani,” stated Hamas via its Telegram channel on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
“We once again emphasise our solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is the target of Zionist-American aggression. And we affirm that this aggression is a continuation of crimes that will also target shared security and stability in the region,” the statement continued.
Hamas remembers Ali Larijani, like the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as leaders in Iran who have consistently supported the struggle of the Palestinian people. “We remember with full respect the honourable stance of Iran’s martyred leaders, who have long supported the struggle and the restoration of the rights of the Palestinian people,” said the Hamas statement. The Gaza resistance faction once again reminds Islamic leaders around the world to resist every Zionist and US aggression.
The Zionist-US aggression against Iran has turned the Middle East into an open war zone. The Zionists and the US continue to bomb important facilities in Iranian territory and target military figures as well as influential politicians in Iran. Iran’s military, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has resisted by launching counterattacks. Iran has retaliated by firing assault drones and advanced missiles at Israeli-occupied territories in Palestine.
Iran has also closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is the main waterway for fossil oil and liquefied natural gas exports to the world. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz is predicted to cause an energy crisis worldwide, with increases in fuel oil and natural gas prices. The US and Zionists are persuading other allied countries in Europe to help attack Iran by recapturing the Strait of Hormuz. However, allied countries have refused to help fight Iran, led by the duo of aggressors, the US and Zionists.
