Halal Certification Leniency for US Products and the Question of Muslim Community Trust

JAKARTA — Halal activist and founder of Halal Corner, Aisha Maharani, has voiced both concern and caution regarding a government policy said to grant leniency in halal certification for products from the United States.

The policy has raised questions about the level of trust the Muslim community can place in imported goods from the US, particularly given the importance of halal assurance for Indonesian consumers.
