Hajj Service Preparations Nearly 100 Percent Complete
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that preparations for Hajj services in 2026/1447 Hijriah are becoming increasingly mature. The government has prepared everything from accommodation, catering, transportation, to healthcare services for Hajj pilgrims. “Hajj service preparations are nearly 100 percent complete. The current stage is the final checking of all services ahead of Hajj operations,” said Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, during the Government Press Conference: Update on PHTC and Preparations for the Implementation of Hajj Worship 2026, at the Presidential Staff Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026). For accommodation, the government has prepared 177 hotels in Mecca and 100 hotels in Medina. In the Mecca area, the accommodations are located in Jarwal, Misfalah, Raudhah, Syisyah, and Aziziah. Meanwhile, all hotels in Medina are in the Markaziah area. Healthcare services are also ready. The government has prepared 40 clinics in Mecca and 5 clinics in Medina. There are also KKHI in both Mecca and Medina. “Each batch consists of one doctor and one healthcare worker,” said Irfan. For these healthcare services, the government is collaborating with one of Saudi Arabia’s major hospitals, namely Saudi German Hospital. Irfan also confirmed that the Nusuk cards have arrived in Indonesia. Currently, the distribution and activation process is underway before departure. Catering for Hajj pilgrims is also in a state of readiness. In Mecca, the government has prepared 51 kitchens, and in Medina, 23 kitchens. Another crucial sector is transportation. The government has prepared buses for three purposes. The first purpose is inter-city buses to transport Hajj pilgrims on the Jeddah-Mecca-Medina route. The second purpose is Salawat buses. These buses will serve pilgrim movements 24 hours a day to the Masjidil Haram. And the third purpose is Masyair buses. These buses will serve Indonesian Hajj pilgrims while they are in Arafah-Muzdalifah-Mina. Indonesia’s Hajj quota for 2026 or 1447 Hijriah is set at 221,000 people. This number consists of 203,320 regular Hajj (92 percent) and 17,680 special Hajj (8 percent). The departure of the first batch of Hajj pilgrims is scheduled for 22 April 2026 via the route to Medina, followed by Mecca. Meanwhile, the last departure is scheduled for 21 May 2026. The peak of the Hajj worship is estimated to fall on 22 May 2026, with the core Hajj worship schedule taking place on 26 May 2026.
