Makkah – The repatriation phase for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims commenced today, with 17 flight groups (kloter) departing from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to return home. Seven kloter are scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on Monday, 1 June 2026.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has issued baggage regulations for returning pilgrims, as detailed in a post on Instagram @kemenhaj.ri on Saturday (30 May 2026). Airlines Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines will only transport luggage in accordance with the rules, including passport bags, cabin luggage, and checked baggage that meet the airline’s specified standards and branding.

Maximum cabin baggage weight is 7 kilograms and checked baggage 32 kilograms. The ministry has also prohibited pilgrims from packing Zamzam water in their luggage, stating that ‘Hajj pilgrims will receive 5 litres of Zamzam water distributed upon arrival at the debarkation camp.’

This regulation aligns with restrictions issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority. Baggage will be scanned using Multiview X-ray technology to detect prohibited items, including Zamzam water, which will be removed if found. Additionally, prohibited items include flammable or explosive materials, firearms, sharp weapons, gases, aerosols, and liquids over 100ml, as well as cash exceeding Rp100 million or 25,000 SAR.
