Hajj Pilgrims Urged to Report Service Complaints via Kawal Haji App While in the Holy Land

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) is urging Indonesian hajj pilgrims already in Madinah or Makkah to utilise the Kawal Haji app if they have complaints or reports during their stay in the Holy Land. “The Kawal Haji app is an important instrument in ensuring responsive, transparent, and accountable services. We invite pilgrims and their families to actively use it,” said Kemenhaj Spokesperson Suci Annisa in Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). The Kawal Haji app serves as a platform for pilgrims and officials to report various service needs for hajj operations quickly. The app enables real-time reporting on consumption services, accommodation, transportation, health, and reports of lost pilgrims or items. The app employs a crowdsourcing concept, where all incoming reports can be directly monitored by pilgrims and officials without admin filtering, enabling two-way communication. In addition, Suci advised pilgrims to maintain their physical condition by regulating outdoor activities, given that temperatures in Madinah and Makkah can reach 37–39 degrees Celsius. “We remind pilgrims to adjust activities according to their ability, get enough rest, and maintain fluid intake. Do not hesitate to report to health officials if experiencing complaints,” she said. Kemenhaj also reminded all Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups (KBIHU) to comply with regulations and continue coordinating with official personnel to maintain order and the safety of pilgrims. “Collaboration and compliance from all parties are the main keys to the smooth running of this year’s hajj worship,” said Suci. Entering the 16th day of operational hajj worship for 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE, 250 flight groups (kloter) with 97,139 people and 996 personnel have departed from Indonesia. Meanwhile, 239 kloter with 92,739 people and 952 personnel have arrived in Madinah and occupied the prepared accommodation. The movement of pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah is also proceeding gradually. Recorded are 88 kloter with 34,244 people and 352 personnel who have arrived in Makkah to perform the mandatory umrah.
