Hajj Pilgrims Throng Masjid al-Haram for Farewell Tawaf After Leaving Mina
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Makkah — Masjid al-Haram in Makkah received groups of Hajj pilgrims arriving from Mina on Friday (29 May 2026) to perform Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf) before proceeding to Madinah or returning to their home countries.
Pilgrims appeared joyful after completing their spiritual journey. Those who opted for the early departure (nafar awal) proceeded to Masjid al-Haram to perform the Farewell Tawaf, the final mandatory ritual of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque facilitated pilgrim movement in the tawaf area and upper prayer floors to ensure the tawaf was conducted safely, orderly, and comfortably.
The authority has implemented operational and on-ground plans to manage pilgrim movement during the Farewell Tawaf. Preparations include deploying field teams along corridors, courtyards, and entrances to guide pilgrims to designated tawaf routes and provide guidance and assistance services.
Authorities also provided Zamzam water distribution points and drinking facilities across Masjid al-Haram. Additionally, electric trains and wheelchair services are available for elderly pilgrims, people with disabilities, and those requiring assistance.
