Hajj Pilgrims from Surabaya Embarkation Bring 'Provisions' of Medicines from Gibran

MADINAH - There was a different sight from the pilgrims of flight group 32 from Surabaya embarkation (SUB-32) who arrived at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah on Thursday night (30/4/2026). The pilgrims from Lamongan and Tulungagung, East Java, were seen carrying a small light blue bag inscribed with “Aid from the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia”. The bag contained a Medical Kit with medicines from the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. This package was handed out during the send-off of Hajj pilgrims at Juanda Airport, Surabaya. “This is from Mr Gibran, it contains medicines. Thank you, I am very pleased,” he said on Thursday. The approximately nine-hour flight, he continued, is certainly not easy for the pilgrims. Especially with the aircraft cabin temperature that tends to make the pilgrims’ bodies feel cold. “It feels very pleasing because this is very useful for the pilgrims. On the plane earlier, many of the medicines were already used, mainly wind-relief medicine because of the cold in the plane. So all alhamdulillah have been used by the pilgrims,” explained Supriyadi. The Travel Kit, which has passed medical authority standards, contains a complete arsenal for emergency conditions. Inside it are anti-motion sickness medicine, pain relievers, cough relievers, diarrhoea medicine, one pack of liquid wind-relief medicine, wind oil, and masks. The gratitude multiplied because all members of the group were reported to have landed in prime condition. Supriyadi assured that not a single pilgrim was left out from the departure list. “The SUB-32 pilgrims all alhamdulillah flew, none were left behind. With a total of 380 people and 13 wheelchair users, everyone has arrived in Madinah,” he concluded. After completing the worship in the City of the Prophet, these 380 pilgrims will be mobilised to Sector 1 in Makkah, specifically at Hotel Lulua Al Matthab, to prepare themselves to welcome the peak of the fifth pillar of Islam.
