Hajj pilgrims from Group 08 combining South and Central Kalimantan arrive home
Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - Hajj pilgrims from Group 08, a combined contingent from South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan provinces via the Banjarmasin Debarkation, arrived back in the country after performing the Hajj pilgrimage in 1447 H / 2026 M.
The Head of the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for the Banjarmasin Debarkation, H Eddy Khairani, at the Hajj dormitory in Banjarbaru City on Sunday, stated that the Group 08 pilgrims arrived at Syamsuddin Noor Airport in Banjarmasin today at around 14:20 WITA.
He revealed that Group 08 is a combined group from two provinces, comprising 231 people from Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, and 125 people from several districts in Central Kalimantan.
“The Hajj pilgrims from Central Kalimantan are from South Barito, East Barito, Kapuas, Palangkaraya, and East Kotawaringin,” Eddy disclosed.
According to him, the arrival process for Group 08 pilgrims went smoothly, and they were brought to the Hajj dormitory to attend a welcoming ceremony and a banquet.
“The condition of almost all the pilgrims is good, with most only experiencing flu and coughs,” he said.
With the arrival of Group 08, the total number of Hajj pilgrims under the Banjarmasin Debarkation who have returned to the country now stands at 2,869 people.
As is known, Eddy said, the PPIH Banjarmasin Embarkation serves the departure and return of Hajj pilgrims from South Kalimantan Province and the neighbouring province of Central Kalimantan.
This year, he said, there are 19 groups in total, consisting of 14 groups from South Kalimantan and five groups from Central Kalimantan, with a total of 6,804 Hajj pilgrims.
“There are still 11 groups remaining in the holy land of Saudi Arabia,” he stated.
Eddy conveyed that the return of Hajj pilgrims under the Banjarmasin Debarkation began on 4 June 2026, arriving at Syamsuddin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin, and is scheduled to conclude on 1 July 2026.
According to him, the Hajj journey is one full of struggle and sacrifice. After returning to the homeland, the real challenge is how to maintain the spirit of worship, sincerity, patience, and social awareness that were forged while in the holy land.
“May all the pilgrims become Hajj and Hajjah who are mabrur and bring blessings to their families, communities, regions, and the nation,” he said.
The PPIH Banjarmasin Debarkation remains committed to providing the best service in the repatriation process until all groups arrive back in their respective regions safely, orderly, and comfortably.
