Hajj Pilgrims from East Java Return Gradually; Two Probolinggo Residents Still Under Intensive Care in the Holy Land
Although some Hajj pilgrims have already returned to their respective regions in East Java, two pilgrims from Probolinggo Regency, part of Groups 1 and 4, are still undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.
“Both pilgrims are currently receiving intensive care and are being continuously monitored by Hajj accompanying officers. Additionally, one pilgrim has been reported to have passed away in the Holy Land during this first group,” stated the Chairman of the PPIH Surabaya Debarkasi, As’adul Anam, in Surabaya on Wednesday (3/6).
The two pilgrims who are unable to return yet are Abdul Djalal, 67, from Probolinggo Regency in Group 1, who is being treated at Al-Noor Hospital, and Muhammad Dzikri Muiz, 65, also from Probolinggo in Group 4, who is being treated at Jeddah Hospital.
“We are continuously monitoring the condition of the pilgrims still receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia through coordination with health officers and Indonesian Hajj representatives. We hope all pilgrims undergoing treatment are granted a speedy recovery and can return to the Homeland in good health,” he said.
Anam explained that during this first repatriation phase, 1,800 pilgrims and officials have arrived in the country across five groups. This figure represents approximately 4% of the total pilgrims and officials scheduled to return via the Surabaya Debarkasi.
“The repatriation process on the first day proceeded well. All officers continue to strive to provide optimal service,” said Anam.
Regarding flight punctuality, it was noted that three groups arrived on time, while two groups experienced delays. In response to these delays, the PPIH Surabaya Debarkasi continues to coordinate with airlines, airport authorities, and all service elements to ensure the smooth repatriation process.
Anam emphasised that the PPIH Surabaya Debarkasi remains committed to providing the best service to all Hajj pilgrims throughout the repatriation process at the Surabaya Hajj Dormitory. “Officers are working to provide optimal service from arrival at the airport to the reception of pilgrims at the Surabaya Class I Hajj Dormitory, ensuring pilgrims can return to their respective regions safely, comfortably, and healthily.”
