Makkah (ANTARA) - Ali Sadikin, the implementer of the Integrated Hajj Computerisation System (Siskohat) at the Hajj Affairs Office of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, stated that hajj pilgrims can utilise the Kawal Haji application as an integrated reporting medium if they encounter any issues while in the Holy Land.

According to Ali, the application serves as a platform for both pilgrims and staff to report various service needs related to hajj operations quickly.

“Pilgrims can report on several services, for example, catering, accommodation, transportation, missing persons, lost items, health information, worship guidance, and other matters related to hajj operations,” said Ali in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

Ali explained that the Kawal Haji app employs a crowdsourcing concept, where all incoming reports can be directly monitored by pilgrims and staff without going through an admin filtering process, thus enabling two-way communication.

The presence of Kawal Haji is seen as strengthening and integrating services among staff. When a pilgrim reports an issue outside the field of the staff they encounter on-site, the report can be forwarded to the Kawal Haji app so that it is immediately followed up by relevant staff.

Regarding accessibility, Ali emphasised that pilgrims and staff do not need to download the app via the Play Store or App Store. Kawal Haji is built using Progressive Web Application (PWA) technology to lighten the memory load on pilgrims’ devices, considering its periodic use.

“Kawal Haji can be accessed via a browser at kawal.haji.go.id, on Android, iOS, or desktop devices. Users can then add the app to their device’s home screen,” said Ali.
