Hajj Pilgrims Begin Movement from Mina to Hotels in Mecca
Indonesian spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) RI, Ichsan Marsha, stated that some Hajj pilgrims have begun moving from Mina to hotels in the Mecca area, Saudi Arabia. Ichsan explained that pilgrims who have completed the Nafar Tsani ritual are being dispatched from Mina to Mecca to return to their respective accommodations. ‘Traffic to hotels is expected to remain congested, with possible road diversions. We urge pilgrims to remain patient and calm during their journey to hotels,’ Ichsan said in a press conference broadcast live on the Kemenhaj RI YouTube channel on Saturday, 30 May 2026. ‘We aim to drop pilgrims off directly in front of their hotels, but if road closures prevent this, buses will discharge them at the nearest accessible location,’ he added. Ichsan appealed for the understanding and support of all Hajj pilgrims to ensure a smooth return to Mecca. ‘We call on all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to maintain unity, assist one another, remind each other, and look out for one another,’ he said. ‘A total of 1,356 Mina Task Force officers have been deployed to support monitoring, crowd management, and rapid response to pilgrims’ needs,’ Ichsan stated. Mina Task Force observation posts are strategically positioned at locations including Road 616, Road 533 in front of Mina Al-Wadi’ Hospital, Road 627 under Abdullah bin Abdulazizz Road, as well as at the Mu’ashim Tunnel entrance opposite Syarikah and various checkpoints directing pilgrims towards Jamarat and monitoring return flows after the stoning ritual. ‘May all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims be granted health, strength, and smooth completion of their rites before returning home as mabrur hajis,’ Ichsan concluded.
