The Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom), Muhammad Qodari, has stated that the increase in Indonesian Hajj pilgrim satisfaction in 2026 demonstrates that improvements in the organisation of the pilgrimage are beginning to be felt by the pilgrims. He made the statement in response to a survey released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

The survey of 14,400 respondents recorded an Indonesian Hajj Service Satisfaction Index for 2026 of 83.28, placing it in the highly satisfactory category. In 2026, BPS employed a more comprehensive measurement approach, assessing the service chain from the preparation of pilgrims within the country to their return home. When calculated using the same methodology as the previous year, the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) for 2026 reached 91.45, an increase of 2.99 points compared to 88.46 in 2025.

Based on service stages, the satisfaction index for domestic services was recorded at 83.85 and for overseas services at 82.71. Airport services recorded the highest satisfaction index at 84.76. Qodari stated that this achievement was the result of collaboration between the government, Hajj officers, the Saudi Arabian government, and various other parties involved in organising the pilgrimage. He emphasised that the Hajj is not merely a journey to the Holy Land, but carries a great responsibility to ensure every pilgrim can worship safely, comfortably, healthily, and with full concentration.

Despite the increase in satisfaction levels, Qodari said the government would continue to conduct evaluations, particularly regarding services in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna), as well as the health readiness of pilgrims before departure. He added that the survey results serve as a foundation for continuing improvements in the organisation of the Hajj pilgrimage.
