Hajj Peak 2026: Schedule from Arafat Wukuf to the Days of Tasyrik
With the peak Hajj season of 1447 AH approaching, many people are seeking to understand the sequence of rites pilgrims undertake in the Holy Land. From the wukuf at Arafah, to mabit at Muzdalifah, to throwing the jumrah at Mina, all these stages form an essential part of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The sequence of the Hajj’s Peak
The peak of Hajj rites is the Armuzna sequence — Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina — with the wukuf at Arafah at the heart of the pilgrimage.
This sequence begins when pilgrims move towards Arafah on 8 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H or 25 May 2026, reaching its pinnacle on 9 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H or 26 May 2026 with the wukuf at the Plain of Arafah.
Referring to the official Hajj schedule for 1447 H/2026 AD from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj RI), the following is the schedule of the Hajj peak rites for 2026:
- 8 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H / 25 May 2026 (Day of Tarwiyah)
Pilgrims begin to move from their accommodation in Mecca to Mina to carry out mabit or to spend the night.
- 9 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H / 26 May 2026 (Day of Arafah)
Pilgrims proceed to the Plain of Arafah to perform the wukuf, the principal rite of Hajj. After that, pilgrims continue the journey and spend the night in Muzdalifah.
- 10 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H / 27 May 2026 (Eid al-Adha)
Pilgrims move to Mina to perform the stoning of the Jamarat (Aqabah), perform tahallul or shaving, and then Tawaf Ifadah.
- 11-13 Dzul Hijjah 1447 H / 28-30 May 2026 (Days of Tasyrik)
Pilgrims spend the nights in Mina and perform the three Jamarat: Jamarat Ula, Wusta, and Aqabah.
This sequence constitutes the core of the Hajj rites for pilgrims in the Holy Land. For Muslims who do not perform Hajj, the peak rites are also associated with fasting on Arafah and the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
