The Surabaya Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) has stated that the return of six Hajj pilgrims from East Java to the homeland has been delayed because they are unwell and are still undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.

“We, along with the health team, will ensure that the sick pilgrims receive the best possible service until their health condition allows them to be returned to Indonesia,” said the Chairman of the Surabaya Debarkasi PPIH, Mohammad As’adul Anam, in Surabaya on Sunday.

He explained that the six pilgrims currently receiving treatment in Saudi Arabia are Mohammad Dzikri Muiz from Probolinggo (Group 11), currently at Jeddah Hospital; Siti Mutmainah Asari from Malang (Group 12); and Matory Ahmad Jalil from Malang (Group 12). Additionally, Soetrisno Semo Semin from Magetan (Group 3) is being treated at King Abdullah Hospital; Jetty Trisno from Madiun (Group 4) is at Samir Abbas Hospital; and Sri Rahayu Sudarmo from Pacitan (Group 5) is being treated at King Faisal Hospital.

Anam stated that the PPIH continues to coordinate with Hajj health officers in Saudi Arabia to monitor the health progress of these pilgrims.

As of the arrival of Group 25, the Surabaya Debarkasi PPIH has received the return of 9,478 pilgrims and officials. This figure consists of 9,302 pilgrims, 43 Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), 33 Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU) mentors, and 100 group officers.

According to Anam, this number represents approximately 22 per cent of the total 44,000 pilgrims and officials involved in the Surabaya Debarkasi operations covering East Java, Bali, and East Nusa Tenggara.

“Alhamdulillah, the repatriation operations up to Group 25 have proceeded smoothly and under control,” he said.

The PPIH also noted 30 outward mutations during the repatriation process, consisting of 11 pilgrims who passed away in Saudi Arabia, eight sick pilgrims, one pilgrim returning independently, and 10 empty seats. Meanwhile, there were eight inward mutations from pilgrims who were scheduled for return in previous flight groups.

In this year’s debarkasi operations, the committee recorded that two pilgrims from Malang (Group 12) passed away during the repatriation process: Hery Widianto (69), who died on the aircraft, and Wayan Rohani Suwasti (63), who died at the Surabaya Hajj Hospital.

“We express our deepest condolences for the passing of the pilgrims who have completed their worship in the Holy Land. May all their good deeds be accepted by Allah SWT and may the families left behind be granted strength,” he added.
