Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf has emphasised that preparations for the operational dispatch of Hajj pilgrims for 1447 H/2026 AD are running according to plan (on track) and have reached nearly 100 percent progress. This was stated during a meeting with officials from the East Java Provincial Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Irfan stressed that this year’s Hajj organisation must serve as a model of smooth, clean public service free from any deviations. Given that East Java has the largest Hajj pilgrim quota in Indonesia, its role is considered highly strategic as a barometer of national success.

“Operational preparations continue to be refined, and so far, they are proceeding according to the established schedule. Our main focus is ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims through comprehensive mitigation measures,” said Irfan on Sunday (29/3).

Addressing the vast Hajj financial ecosystem amounting to Rp18 trillion, Irfan stated that accountability is non-negotiable.

To guarantee this, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is involving professionals from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Police in overseeing procurement processes and budget management.

“The Hajj funds managed are enormous, so commitment to clean governance is absolute. We want to ensure that every rupiah spent truly returns in the form of the best services for pilgrims,” he asserted.

These strategic steps, Irfan continued, represent direct implementation of the President of Indonesia’s directives to deliver transparent Hajj services oriented towards pilgrim satisfaction. Menhaj also extended the highest appreciation to the East Java Provincial Office of the Ministry of Hajj staff for their dedication in this preparation phase.

“I ask that we continue to maintain unity and elevate service standards. Our focus is one: to give the best for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims,” he stated.

Menhaj Moch. Irfan Yusuf reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Indonesian Hajj services through four strategic programmes, namely reducing Hajj costs and reforming waiting list policies.

His ministry has selected 685 Hajj and Umrah Worship Guidance Instructors (BPIHU) to ensure the quality of ritual guidance provided to pilgrims.

Menhaj explained the reasons for training 2026 Hajj personnel in a semi-military style, focusing on discipline, physical and mental readiness, and challenges in the Saudi Arabian terrain.

Menhaj Gus Irfan emphasised that the Hajj Village in Saudi Arabia can only be partially used by 2028. Construction is now fully controlled by Danantara.

These facilitators are tasked with ensuring all personnel have adequate readiness, both technically, mentally, and in understanding field duties.

Menhaj Mochamad Irfan Yusuf assured that preparations for Hajj 2026 have reached 100 percent and the schedule is on track. The Rp18 trillion operational funds are tightly monitored by the KPK and Police for transparency in pilgrim services.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, or Gus Irfan, revealed that around 50,000 Indonesian Umrah pilgrims are still in Saudi Arabia.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, assured that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims receive the best consumption services.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Gus Irfan Yusuf emphasised the importance of physical readiness, mental preparedness, and understanding of worship in the 2026 National Hajj Rituals.

Menhaj Mochamad Irfan Yusuf affirmed that the selection process for the Central Level Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia for 1447H/2026M will proceed cleanly and transparently.
