Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hajj Service Officials (PPIH) have requested that hajj personnel stationed at the Airport Work Area (Daker) provide the best first impression and create a sense of calm for Indonesian prospective pilgrims upon landing in the holy land.

“Airport personnel must provide the best first impression, serving with friendliness so that pilgrims feel calm upon seeing the presence of Indonesian officials,” said the Head of Daker Airport Abdul Basyir in his statement in Jakarta on Monday.

Basyir said that ahead of the pilgrims’ arrival, all personnel, both from the Saudi PPIH element and support staff, including mukimin and student personnel, are expected to understand their respective duties and functions.

According to him, such understanding is important so that personnel can adapt to real field conditions and have a clearer picture of their duties when serving pilgrims.

“The principle is to comply with local regulations. Things that are prohibited, such as taking photos in certain areas, should not be done,” he said.

In terms of service, he emphasised the importance of quick responses prioritising pilgrims’ conditions, especially those needing rest after a long journey.

“If pilgrims are tired, facilitate them to rest immediately so as not to disrupt their physical condition,” he said.

“The first three days are crucial. If they can be passed well, the personnel will find it easier to adjust to subsequent duties,” he said.

Abdul Basyir also reminded all personnel to maintain solidarity and work under one command, as well as regularly coordinate in carrying out service duties.

On the other hand, Indonesian prospective pilgrims are urged to prepare themselves well ahead of departure, including maintaining health conditions and fulfilling personal needs.

“Ensure preparations are complete, especially physical condition. Prepare necessary medications and vitamins, and do not bring prohibited items that could disrupt airport processes,” he said.
