Hajj officials finalise accommodation, catering, and transportation services
Mecca (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabian Hajj Organising Officers (PPIH) for the Indonesian Work Area (Daker) in Mecca are continuing to finalise preparations for three main services—accommodation, catering, and transportation—to welcome the first wave of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims arriving from Medina at the end of April.
Head of the Mecca Work Area PPIH Saudi Arabia, Ihsan Faisal, said his team has moved quickly by instructing sector-level officers to immediately inspect the suitability of hotel facilities that will be occupied by the pilgrims.
“The most essential service, accommodation, is now being prepared. We have instructed our sector colleagues to immediately check all hotels, including internal facilities such as beds, bathrooms, dining rooms, prayer rooms, and lobbies,” Ihsan said at the Mecca Work Area Office on Friday.
In addition to residential comfort, officers are giving full attention to catering services to ensure pilgrims’ health and stamina remain maintained during their worship. Ihsan assured that inspections of catering provider kitchens in Mecca have been conducted intensively every day since the arrival of the advance team.
To support pilgrims’ mobility and the smooth conduct of worship at the Grand Mosque, the Bus Shalawat transportation service has also been prepared to operate at maximum capacity. The service will accommodate pilgrims for 24 hours a day.
“From there, pilgrims will move from their respective accommodations to be transported to the Grand Mosque. Similarly, from the Grand Mosque, there are several pick-up terminals such as Syib Amir Terminal, Ajyad, and Jabal Ka’bah to transport pilgrims back to their respective hotels,” Ihsan stated.
All comprehensive preparations are being accelerated, given that the first wave of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims is scheduled to soon proceed to enter the city of Mecca after completing the series of worship in Medina.
“The first wave of Hajj pilgrims, God willing, will arrive in Mecca around 29 or 30 April. Because the group that was the pioneer of the first arrival in Medina yesterday will also be the first to depart to Mecca at the end of this April,” Ihsan said.
