Hajj Departure for 2026 from Soekarno-Hatta Airport Begins on 22 April, Serving 35,285 Pilgrims

TANGERANG - The departure of Hajj pilgrims for 2026 from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 22 April 2026. During this Hajj season, Soekarno-Hatta Airport will serve tens of thousands of pilgrims from several embarkation points in the Jabodetabek region. The Head of the Class I Special Immigration Office for TPI Soekarno-Hatta, Galih Priya Kartika Perdana, stated that the total number of pilgrims to be departed through the airport reaches 35,285 people. “We can inform that the departure of prospective Hajj pilgrims through Soekarno-Hatta Airport is planned to start on Wednesday, 22 April 2026,” she said in an official statement received by Kompas.com on Thursday (16 April 2026). She explained that the pilgrims come from three embarkation points, namely Pondok Gede, Bekasi, and Cipondoh. The pilgrims will then be flown using Garuda Indonesia and Saudi Arabian Airlines airlines. Galih mentioned that all immigration examination processes, including exit stamping, are conducted centrally at the Hajj departure dormitory. “All immigration examination processes, including exit stamping, have also been provided centrally at the Hajj departure dormitory,” she said. After that, prospective pilgrims will be departed to the airport using buses that have been sealed and escorted by immigration officers to ensure security and smoothness of the journey. Through this service, the Saudi Arabian immigration examination process is carried out earlier in Indonesia. Thus, upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims can directly continue their journey to the lodging without having to queue for immigration checks. “With this service, Indonesian pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia can directly continue their journey to the lodging without having to go through immigration checks upon arrival,” said Galih. Galih added that this scheme is designed to make the departure process faster, more orderly, and more comfortable for all pilgrims. “With this scheme, the departure process becomes faster, more orderly, and more comfortable for all prospective Hajj pilgrims,” she stated.
