The West Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that seven witnesses have been questioned regarding alleged violations in the implementation of Hajj dam and badal involving a Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU) in West Java. “So far, seven people have been examined, including pilgrims, the KBIHU, and cluster officials,” said Head of the West Java Ministry of Hajj Regional Office, Boy Hari Novian, at Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, on Wednesday. He explained that the ongoing process currently involves gathering statements and clarifications on reports received concerning the execution of dam and badal hajj in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Hajj, together with the West Java Regional Police, is taking the reports of alleged violations seriously. “We are accompanied by the West Java Police in handling or clarifying the viral case relating to one of the KBIHU in West Java,” he said. Boy explained that authorities are still investigating information obtained from witnesses to ascertain the actual facts that occurred during the pilgrimage. He stressed that the previously surfaced allegations cannot yet be verified as the investigation is still underway. Boy added that witnesses were separated to be questioned individually upon arrival at Kertajati Airport to facilitate the clarification process. “We separated them and carried out clarification or obtained statements from the individuals concerned and also the pilgrims themselves,” he said. Additionally, he urged all KBIHU and pilgrims to comply with the provisions set by the government and not to engage in practices outside the rules during the organisation of the pilgrimage. “Ensure there are no activities conducted outside the regulations, as this could potentially lead to consequences and sanctions according to applicable provisions,” he remarked.
