Saudi Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel carried out a two-day inspection of various healthcare service facilities in Mecca on Thursday (23/4/2026). This is to ensure readiness for the upcoming Hajj season.

The visit reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to providing world-class health services to pilgrims. This aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Programme and Saudi Vision 2030.

The Minister emphasised that the readiness of health infrastructure in Mecca is a top priority. With operational plans focused on expanding capacity as well as integrating preventive, curative, and emergency services.

He noted that the strategy includes enhancing the readiness of medical and technical personnel. At the same time, ensuring smooth coordination across the health sector to handle all cases with the highest level of professionalism and guarantee the safety of pilgrims during the performance of worship.

During the visit, the minister reviewed the operational status of emergency units and intensive care, protocols for handling critical cases, and rapid response mechanisms. He also examined the integrated command and control system as well as the level of coordination with ambulance services, to ensure a rapid and efficient response during the Hajj season.

This inspection is part of the ministry’s ongoing field monitoring. The aim is to ensure the highest standards of health safety and service integration across all holy sites.
