Haj pilgrim's lost baggage claim

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration's committee in charge of handling the return of haj pilgrims' has announced that all haj pilgrims from Jakarta whose baggage is missing can claim their lost belongings from the registration offices of the city's five mayoralties.

Head of the committee Suparman told reporters on Tuesday that his team had already sent all baggage left behind, either at the Pondok Gede haj dormitory in Pondok Gede or at the Halim Perdanakusuma airport, to the registration offices.

"Our team has sent all of the baggage to the respective mayoralties," Suparman said, urging the owners to claim their belongings as soon as possible.

He said that the baggage would be given to orphanages if it remained unclaimed after three months.

He explained that the lost baggage being held by the city included, among other things, goods valuable to the haj pilgrims, such as souvenirs and Zam Zam water from Saudi Arabia. (yns)
