Hairdresser killed in Central Jakarta

JAKARTA (JP): Police arrested one of two men accused of killing a hairdresser on the second floor of his salon on Jl. Rawa Sari, Cempaka Putih district, Central Jakarta yesterday.

Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. M. Ibrahim said the suspects, identified as BN and IN, stabbed Jeffry, 35, with a sickle and a sword.

"Jeffry tried to fight the men when they demanded his jewelry and money," Ibrahim said.

He said local residents reported the robbery to police.

He said police arrested BN but IM escaped.

Jeffry was stabbed five times in the stomach. He died on the way to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital. (jun)
