The Central Leadership (PP) of Muhammadiyah has officially launched the logo for the Tanwir and the 114th Anniversary of Muhammadiyah. Featuring the symbol of the Moringa leaf, the logo serves not only as a visual identity but also represents the ideas and direction of the Muhammadiyah movement.

The logo was introduced during the launch event at the PP Muhammadiyah Office in Yogyakarta on Saturday (12/09/2026). The General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, stated that the selection of the Moringa leaf as the primary symbol carries significance related to the theme and spirit of the 2026 Muhammadiyah Tanwir, which is scheduled to be held in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

According to Haedar, the Moringa plant grows abundantly in Indonesia, including in Palu. The plant is often referred to as a ‘miracle tree’ due to its numerous benefits for life. Based on these characteristics, the Moringa leaf is interpreted as a symbol of simplicity, resilience, breadth of insight, and prosperity.

“In the context of our movement, as well as in this Tanwir and Anniversary, we must be able to use this as a momentum to strengthen simplicity that possesses value and a theme. Not simplicity as populism,” Haedar said in his speech.

He also linked the Moringa leaf to the Indonesian proverb, “the world is not as narrow as a Moringa leaf.” However, according to Ha него, this expression can instead be interpreted as an encouragement for Muhammadiyah to expand its horizons, thoughts, social interactions, and the reach of its movement.

“The Moringa leaf signifies breadth, which means breadth of insight, breadth of thought, breadth of social interaction, and the breadth of our movement’s exploration,” he added.
