Hadi Tjahjanto Visits Ryamizard Ryacudu's Condolence House: 'I Have Lost a Father and Senior'

Former TNI Commander (retired) Hadi Tjahjanto stated that the passing of former Defence Minister General TNI (retired) Ryamizard Ryacudu is a significant loss for the military and the wider public. For himself, he feels he has lost a senior figure and even a father. ‘On this night, I truly feel the loss of a father, a senior, a figure who was truly an inspiration to junior soldiers like me,’ Hadi said in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday, 31 May 2026. Hadi explained that his professional and personal relationship with the late Ryamizard was strong, particularly when he served as the Defence Ministry Inspector General (Irjen Kemhan) during Ryamizard’s tenure as minister. ‘Even when we served in the TNI, he consistently provided the best advice to maintain consistency and to keep motivating his subordinates. That was his message to me,’ he added.
