Chairman of the DPR RI Commission III, Habiburokhman, has revealed the progress of the Judicial Positions Bill (RUU Jabatan Hakim). Habiburokhman stated that the bill is currently in the stage of absorbing aspirations.

“This law on judicial positions has already begun the process of absorbing aspirations,” said Habiburokhman during the national seminar commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the Indonesian Judges Association (Ikahi) at the Supreme Court in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

Habiburokhman explained that Commission III has invited Ikahi to discuss the bill. He stated that they aim to absorb aspirations from the very beginning.

“Ikahi has been invited because we learned from the KUHAP last time. With KUHAP, we were protested by NGO friends and academics that our aspiration absorption happened after the discussion. They felt not sufficiently accommodated, whereas the formation of the law involves drafting and discussion. So now, for this Judicial Positions Bill, from the very start, we are absorbing aspirations and even officially inviting Ikahi,” he said.

Habiburokhman added that Commission III of the DPR is also conducting intensive communication with all judges in Indonesia. He assured that all aspirations related to the Judicial Positions Bill will be accommodated as much as possible.

“We are also conducting intensive communication with judge friends throughout Indonesia; many have messaged us via WA, many have contacted us to convey suggestions. So clearly, this meaningful participation starts from the drafting of the bill and the academic paper. Thus, when it becomes law, insyaallah all aspirations from stakeholders related to the law can be accommodated as much as possible,” he said.
