Habiburokhman Reveals Febrie Case Oversight Committee to Meet Soon

Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Habiburokhman, has stated that the Working Committee (Panja) overseeing the case of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, will hold a meeting in the near future. He said the meeting would discuss the working mechanisms of the Panja.

“Yes, our Panja will hold a meeting in the near future,” Habiburokhman said at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

However, Habiburokhman has not yet explained exactly when the meeting will take place. He said his party would provide information regarding the meeting.

“Yes, as a Panja, we can coordinate if there is an activity. We will be informed and we will provide updates later,” he stated.

Previously, Commission III of the DPR confirmed it was paying close attention to the legal process concerning corruption cases related to coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel. Habiburokhman stressed that the cases, which have widely implicated law enforcement officers, are linked to rogue individuals rather than institutions.

“There are several points to announce. First, Commission III is taking the initiative to ensure that the cases which have been widely reported recently can proceed within legal corridors and be thoroughly investigated according to the law,” Habiburokhman said during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Saturday (11/7/2026).

Habiburokhman emphasised that his party would oversee the process to prevent any actions exceeding legal authority between law enforcement institutions during the investigation of this case.

“Secondly, we also want to ensure there is no excess, friction, or clashes between institutions regarding the handling of this case. Because, after all, this is a case related to rogue individuals, to people, to individuals, not to institutions,” he said.
