Habiburokhman Praises Polri's Transparency in Addressing Errant Personnel

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Habiburokhman has praised the transparency of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in communicating the process of addressing police personnel who commit violations.

“I must say that Polri is an institution that provides the best response to violations committed by its rogue elements,” he stated during the Seminar for S1 Students of STIK Class of 83 at the School of Police Sciences (STIK) Building, Jakarta, on Monday.

According to him, in other institutions, the public cannot track the disciplinary processes for errant personnel.

“We cannot track what the sanctions are, whether they are just detained or processed legally,” he said.

However, in Polri, all disciplinary processes are carried out openly, including the imposition of dishonourable discharge (PTDH) sanctions.

“So, I see that the Polri institution under Pak Sigit (Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo) is not allergic to openness,” he remarked.

According to him, this openness serves as an affirmation that the violations are committed by rogue individuals and not by the institution as a whole.

“The public can ultimately see how firm the Polri institution is in addressing rogue elements who commit violations. This is what we do by holding many public hearing meetings regarding alleged violations by law enforcement officers,” he said.
