Habiburokhman: Prabowo Will Not Help Close Associates Facing Legal Cases

Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission III, Habiburokhman, has stressed that President Prabowo Subianto will not interfere in any legal case. According to Habib, Prabowo has frequently reminded his party members during internal events to be cautious and not to violate the law. ‘Even he has said many times, I am his cadre, at party events he reminds all of us, members of the DPR, be careful, do not break the law. If you do, there will be no help, no intervention whatsoever from me. That is clear,’ said Habib. He revealed that the President did not intervene in the case of Ombudsman Chairman Hery Susanto, a former Gerindra Party official who was arrested by the Attorney General’s Office. ‘The Ombudsman Chairman, Hery Susanto, is our former cadre, a former party official, and he was arrested without any intervention from the President,’ Habib added. This statement follows claims by Hotman Paris, the lawyer for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah, who argued that his client was being criminalised. Hotman noted that Febrie was a high-achieving official who had been praised by President Prabowo for recovering state assets, yet was suddenly targeted without the President’s knowledge.
