JAKARTA — Traffic volume on several tollway sections managed by Regional Nusantara increased ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026.

A total of 753,503 vehicles crossed four Regional Nusantara tollway sections during the period from 10 days before Eid (H-10) to 7 days before Eid (H-7), spanning 11 March 2026 to 14 March 2026.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, through Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division, recorded that this figure represented a 0.43 per cent increase compared to normal traffic volume of 750,272 vehicles.

Rivan A Purwantono, Chief Executive Officer of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, urged the public to schedule their travel times to avoid peak homecoming traffic expected on 17 March 2026, particularly on the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa and Medan–Kualanamu–Tebing Tinggi tollway sections.

“The toll fare discount programme on Trans Sumatra for the homecoming period commenced on 15 March 2026 at 00.00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) and concluded on 16 March 2026 at 24.00 WIB,” Rivan stated in a release on Sunday (15 March 2026).

Jasa Marga also advised tollway users to prepare their journeys well during the extended Eid holiday period. Drivers were requested to ensure their vehicle condition and physical fitness were in optimal condition, to refuel adequately, and to verify that their electronic toll payment systems had sufficient balance before entering the tollway.

On the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa section, traffic volume reached 344,559 vehicles, a 0.32 per cent increase compared to normal volume of 343,476 vehicles. Of this, 85,810 vehicles departed Medan City through the Amplas Toll Gate, rising 3.27 per cent compared to normal volume of 83,095 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Medan–Kualanamu–Tebing Tinggi tollway recorded 64,213 vehicles, an increase of 5.77 per cent compared to normal volume of 60,711 vehicles. Additionally, 21,833 vehicles headed to Kualanamu International Airport through the Kualanamu Toll Gate, representing a 7.53 per cent increase compared to normal volume of 20,304 vehicles.

In Kalimantan, the Balikpapan–Samarinda tollway recorded traffic volume of 46,532 vehicles, a 10.75 per cent increase compared to normal volume of 42,017 vehicles. The Manado–Bitung tollway recorded traffic volume of 29,761 vehicles, an 8.23 per cent increase compared to normal volume of 27,497 vehicles.
