H+6 Return Flow 2026: 172,000 People Crowd Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Passenger movements during the return flow on H+6 of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang, Banten, were observed to be busy on Friday (27/3). The majority of arriving passengers were holidaymakers from various regions returning to Jakarta and its surroundings after the Eid holiday. PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney) predicted that 172,179 passengers would crowd the airport on that day. This number consisted of 93,333 arriving passengers and 78,846 departing passengers. All passenger movements were distributed across three terminals, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3, with a total of 1,136 domestic and international flights, including 10 cargo flights. CNN Indonesia’s monitoring at Terminal 1 of Soetta Airport on Friday (27/3) evening showed passenger density at several points, from the baggage claim area, arrival gates, to the passenger pick-up area. Based on observations of the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) screen in the T1 B arrival area, the majority of arriving passengers came from Denpasar, Makassar, Kualanamu, Yogyakarta, and Pangkal Pinang regions. The management of Soekarno-Hatta Airport predicted that the peak of the 2026 Eid return flow would occur on 28 March, coinciding with the end of the extended Idulfitri holiday period.
