H+5 Eid, 11,000 Whoosh Tickets Sold Until Thursday Afternoon
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded 11,000 Whoosh tickets sold until Thursday (26/3) afternoon, precisely on the fifth day after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. “For today, Thursday, the tickets sold are around 11,000 something for various destinations,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti when met at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Thursday. Emir assessed that the figure is not as significant as on Tuesday (24/3) or H+3 Eid, which was the peak of the return flow with a total of around 24,000 passengers per day. Nevertheless, he predicted that the number of passengers would continue to increase until Thursday evening. “It is predicted that by evening, the total will be around 18,000 passengers per day,” he said. PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) predicts a surge in Whoosh passengers will occur again on Saturday and Sunday, 28-29 March 2026, in line with the end of the school holiday period and the work from anywhere (WFA) policy. The increase in passenger numbers is considered capable of driving the economy from both ticketing and non-ticketing revenues. KCIC provides 62 schedules and 37,000 seats per day to anticipate the passenger surge, especially during the Eid flow. PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded an increase in Whoosh passenger volume of around 11.3 percent or reaching 224,827 passengers during the 2026 Eid Transport Period from 13-25 March. This figure increased compared to the same period in 2025, which reached 202,007 passengers. Then, the peak occupancy during the 2026 Eid Transport Period occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day. The Whoosh high-speed train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed train operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h and serving the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations, namely Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon. KCIC is committed to providing safe, fast, and reliable transportation services for the community.
