H+4 Lebaran 2026: Bird's Eye Chilli Price in Bangka Reaches Rp130,000 per Kg
On the fourth day after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, or H+4, the price of red bird’s eye chillies on 24 March 2026 in the Kite Sungailiat market, Bangka, Bangka Belitung Province, has experienced a sharp increase. The price of red bird’s eye chillies has now risen to Rp130,000 per kilogram, compared to Rp100,000 per kilogram previously. Mita, one of the staple goods traders at the Kite Sungailiat market in Bangka, said the rise in the price of red bird’s eye chillies has been ongoing since H+2 Lebaran. “Before Lebaran, the price was still Rp70,000 per kilogram, then it rose to Rp100,000 per kilogram, and now on the fourth day of Lebaran, it has risen again to Rp130,000 per kilogram,” said Mita on Wednesday (24/3). She admitted that the price increase was due to limited chilli stocks, while supplies have not yet arrived because distributors are on Lebaran holiday. “The information is that there are no shipments yet because it’s Lebaran, while the existing stock is limited,” she explained. In addition, the factor behind the rise in the price of red bird’s eye chillies is also due to not many traders yet selling, as the Lebaran atmosphere persists. “There are some selling, but only one or two traders, so the chilli price goes up,” she clarified. Meanwhile, Yuni, one of the housewives, admitted she had no choice but to buy bird’s eye chillies despite the current high price. “Buying just one ounce for Rp13,000, as long as there’s some for Lebaran needs,” said Yuni.
