H+2 Eid al-Fitr: Vehicle Volume Returning to Jabotabek Reaches 1.7 Million
President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A Purwantono, reported that the traffic volume returning to the Jabotabek region during the H-10 to H+2 period of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri/2026 holiday, or 11–23 March 2026, reached 1,702,500 vehicles. This figure is the cumulative traffic flow from four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama GT (towards Trans Java), Kalihurip Utama GT (towards Bandung), Cikupa GT (towards Merak), and Ciawi GT (towards Puncak). In his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/3/2026), Rivan noted that this number equates to 50.16% of the total projection of 3.39 million vehicles expected to return to Jabotabek during the 11–31 March 2026 period. Based on the distribution, traffic returning to Jabotabek was dominated by the eastern direction (Trans Java and Bandung) with 696,748 vehicles or 40.9%. Meanwhile, from the western direction (Merak), 568,159 vehicles were recorded or 33.4%, and from the southern direction (Puncak), 437,593 vehicles or 25.7%. For detailed movements, vehicles from the Trans Java direction passing through Cikampek Utama GT were recorded at 309,156 vehicles, or 15.2% lower than normal traffic. Meanwhile, from the Bandung direction through Kalihurip Utama GT, 387,592 vehicles were recorded, down 7.1% from normal conditions. In total, the flow from the eastern direction reached 696,748 vehicles, 10.9% lower than normal traffic. From the western direction, vehicles returning to Jabotabek through Cikupa GT were recorded at 568,159 vehicles, down 4.9% compared to normal conditions. Meanwhile, from the southern direction through Ciawi GT, 437,593 vehicles were recorded, 5.6% lower than normal traffic. Rivan explained that the return traffic volume began to show an increase starting from H+2 Eid al-Fitr 2026. “Vehicle traffic flow is expected to continue increasing, especially during the peak return period on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026,” said Rivan. On H+2 Eid al-Fitr, Monday (23/3/2026), the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek through the four main toll gates was recorded at 225,293 vehicles, up 73.7% compared to normal traffic of 129,695 vehicles.
