GWM Launches Limited-Edition Tank 500 Black Warrior with Diesel Engine

JAKARTA — Inchape GWM Indonesia has officially launched the special edition GWM Tank 500 Black Warrior in Indonesia. The model features an all-black exterior that enhances the rugged premium SUV’s imposing presence.

Tank 500 Black Warrior is an upgraded version of the standard model, with focus on exterior updates.

For the interior, there are no significant changes compared to the regular model. The cabin retains a premium feel with leather seats and electrically adjustable front seats featuring massage functionality.

The SUV is equipped with an audio system featuring active noise cancellation and 12 speakers to enhance journey comfort.

The luxurious feel is further amplified by a panoramic sunroof and dual 14.6-inch central dashboard screens.

Notably, GWM states that the Tank 500 Black Warrior will be sold in limited quantities in Indonesia.

‘It’s important to note that the Tank 500 Diesel Black Warrior will be offered in limited numbers at GIIAS 2026, so it will be first come, first served,’ said Francisca Risa Setyanti, Product Intelligent Manager at Inchcape GWM Indonesia, in Depok, West Java, on Monday (25 May 2026).

For specifications, the Tank 500 Black Warrior continues to use a diesel engine producing a maximum torque of 480 Nm and 184 PS (approximately 181 bhp). The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain.
