Gus Yahya Prepares 1,000-Page Accountability Report for NU Congress
General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, has stated that he has prepared an accountability report for his 2021–2026 leadership totalling 1,000 pages for the 35th NU Congress.
This will be delivered by Gus Yahya during the proceedings of the 35th NU Congress at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. Gus Yahya said the 1,000-page accountability report serves as tangible evidence of the density of programme implementation over the past five years.
“Alhamdulillah, we have prepared it. Our accountability report is nearly 1,000 pages. This is because activities have indeed been very intensive over these five years, and the targets mandated by the 34th Congress in Lampung have also been almost entirely fulfilled,” said Gus Yahya at the venue of the 35th NU Congress on Friday (28/8).
Furthermore, Gus Yahya claimed that various achievements and organisational governance reforms during his leadership have already been directly felt by administrators at the regional level (PWNU) and branch level (PCNU).
“So I think the congress participants, the regional and branch administrators, also feel what the achievements have been. They have already enjoyed the new things we introduced that improve performance, simplify organisational management, and so on,” he said.
Armed with these achievements and management improvements, he felt there is no room for congress participants to reject his accountability report.
“I think there is no reason for rejection. From any aspect, there is none. We shall see later,” Gus Yahya asserted.
