Gus Par Launches New iPOS MBLB, Tax Surveillance Tightened
The Regent of Karangasem, I Gusti Putu Parwata (Gus Par), launched the digital innovation programme New iPOS MBLB to tighten oversight of local taxes and minimise leakage, particularly in the Mineral Bukan Logam dan Batuan (MBLB) sector.
The launch took place at the High Level Meeting (HLM) of Karangasem Regency held at the Wantilan of the Karangasem Regent’s Office, on Friday, 22 May 2026.
In his address, Gus Par emphasised the importance of managing Original Regional Revenue (PAD) seriously, transparently, and data-based. He also reminded all officers to work professionally and not to fool around, whether in service, recording, or on-field supervision.
“Pajak daerah merupakan salah satu tulang punggung pembiayaan pembangunan. Oleh karena itu, harus dikelola dengan jujur, tertib, dan penuh tanggung jawab,” said Gus Par, on Friday 22 May 2026.
Through the New iPOS MBLB system, each transaction is expected to be recorded in real time, more accurately, and transparently. In this way, the potential leakage of local revenue can be reduced while also encouraging tax compliance.
Gus Par also asserted that regional development cannot be entirely reliant on central government aid. According to him, fiscal independence must be strengthened by maximising the potential of local revenue.
“If PAD is strong, development will proceed more quickly and benefits will be felt directly by the community,” said Gus Par.
The Karangasem government through BPKAD is also committed to delivering modern and accountable tax governance through various upcoming innovations. This step is taken to realise a more transparent and trustworthy regional financial system.
