Gus Miftah's Name Surfaces in Corruption Trial of Non-Active Pati Regent, Prosecutors Allege Rp100 Million Flow
Jakarta, VIVA – The name of preacher Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman, or Gus Miftah, surfaced in the trial of the corruption case engulfing suspended Pati Regent Sudewo at the Semarang Corruption Court on Monday, 13 July 2026.
Gus Miftah’s name arose when prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Dheki Martin, former Commitment-Making Officer (PPK) for the Solo-Semarang Double Track Segment 6 (JGSS 6) project, as a witness.
During the hearing, the prosecutor read out Dheki’s Examination Report (BAP), which contained allegations of fund flows from the railway double-track construction project. One section of the BAP mentioned a payment of Rp100 million to Gus Miftah.
When confirming the contents of the BAP, the prosecutor directly verified the identity of the person concerned.
“Is Gus Miftah the one who was in the news recently because of the ice cream seller?” the prosecutor asked Dheki in court, as quoted on Monday, 14 July 2026.
“Yes,” Dheki replied.
The prosecutor then further clarified that the person referred to was the preacher known for his long hair.
“He also received that Rp100 million. So that people know, so that people in Pati also know,” the prosecutor said.
“Gus Miftah, the one with long hair, received money from you (Dheki) from project funds, so that people know,” the prosecutor continued.
The statement was made to confirm the contents of the BAP read before the panel of judges. During the hearing, Dheki did not dispute the contents of the BAP read out by the prosecutor.
The prosecutor also probed Dheki’s account of the arrival of a man named Nur Hidayat at his office while the Solo-Semarang Double Track Segment 6 project was underway.
According to Dheki, Nur Hidayat came to introduce himself and to express his desire to become involved in the railway double-track construction project.
“As far as I know, the first guest who came to the office was Mr Nur Hidayat. He stated that he wanted to take part in the JGSS 1 construction project,” Dheki said.
However, Dheki said he could not fulfil the request because the project already had an official tender winner.
