Gus Miftah Denies Receiving Rp100 Million in DJKA Corruption Case
Gus Miftah has spoken out after his name was mentioned during a trial at Semarang District Court concerning alleged corruption at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) on Monday last week. Below is a series of his statements responding to the allegations regarding the corrupt DJKA funds.
During Monday’s (13 July) hearing at Semarang District Court, Gus Miftah was said to have received Rp 100 million, according to testimony from Dheky Martin, the committing officer for the Solo-Semarang double-track railway project.
He Does Not Know Dheky Martin
Gus Miftah denied the allegation. He conveyed this during a celebration at the Ora Aji Islamic boarding school on Saturday evening (18 July). A video of the event was uploaded to the Gus Miftah Official YouTube channel.
In the video, Gus Miftah said he was shocked when he saw the news on social media. He claimed not to know Dheky Martin, the former committing officer for the Solo-Semarang double-track railway project who named him as a recipient of the funds.
“When I saw it on TikTok, with my name mentioned at the corruption trial of Regent Sudewo, I was stunned. It turned out I was accused of receiving Rp 100 million from someone convicted of corruption,” Gus Miftah said.
“When did this happen? I saw it was in 2022. So now here we are — this allegedly happened in 2022, and I do not know the person involved. And at that time, if I had been given Rp 100 million, in what capacity? I am an ordinary citizen, merely a preacher,” he continued.
Ready to Return the Rp 100 Million
Although he claims not to know Dheky Martin and believes he never received money from him, Gus Miftah said he could not rule out having forgotten the moment.
Gus Miftah stressed that if he had indeed forgotten meeting and receiving money from Dheky Martin, he would return the Rp 100 million.
“I do not know him, but perhaps I have forgotten — people come to the boarding school and say, ‘Gus, I would like to make a donation to the pesantren.’ I would not necessarily know about it,” Gus Miftah said.
“But as far as I remember, I do not know anyone named Dheky Martin, and I did not know if I was given anything. As far as I recall, I received nothing. But once again I say, if anyone ever gave something to the boarding school, I will return it,” he asserted.
KPK Prosecutors’ Explanation
As previously reported by detikJateng, KPK prosecutors revealed allegations of funds flowing to Gus Miftah during the trial of the DJKA corruption case with suspended Pati Regent Sudewo as defendant. However, the prosecutors could not yet confirm whether the money was actually received by Gus Miftah.
KPK prosecutor Greafik Loserte said the fact emerged during a witness examination in Sudewo’s corruption trial at the Corruption Court in South Semarang district, held early last week.
“(Is it true there is information about corrupt DJKA funds flowing to Gus Miftah?) Yes. That information came from the testimony of witness Dheky Martin, who served as committing officer for work packages JGSS 1-5,” Greafik told detikJateng on Wednesday (15 July).
“Yesterday we all heard that in his position he received sums of money from various contractors and businessmen,” he continued.
He said prosecutors, based on the witness examination record, asked whether the money from the contractors was channelled to several parties, including Gus Miftah. According to him, Dheky admitted the money was also channelled to various activities unrelated to the BTPK 1 Semarang project.
“We obtained information that the money flowed to various parties, one of them being Gus Miftah, amounting to around Rp 100 million,” he disclosed.
“We cannot yet confirm whether that money actually reached the person concerned (Gus Miftah) from Dheky Martin,” he added.
