Gus Miftah Allegedly Received Rp100 Million in DJKA Ministry of Transportation Corruption Case
The name of prominent preacher Miftah Maulana Habiburrohman, widely known as Gus Miftah, was mentioned during a corruption trial concerning a project under the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) at the Ministry of Transportation. The defendant in the case is Sudewo, a former member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. The hearing took place at the Semarang Corruption Court in Central Java on Monday (13/7/2026). Gus Miftah is suspected of receiving a flow of funds amounting to Rp100 million from the Solo-Semarang Double Track Segment 1 (JGSS 1) project.
Gus Miftah’s name surfaced when Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) public prosecutor Greafik Loserte was examining a witness, Dheky Martin, a former commitment-making official (PPK) for the JGSS project who has already been convicted in the case. During the trial, prosecutor Greafik Loserte questioned the distribution of funds from the JGSS 1 construction project. He asked whether it was true that Rp100 million was given to the preacher Gus Miftah. ‘Yes,’ Dheky replied, confirming the question.
‘Is this the Gus Miftah who recently went viral because of the ice seller? He also got Rp100 million?’ Greafik continued his questioning of Dheky. Dheky confirmed this again. ‘So that people know, so that people in Pati Regency also know, that Gus Miftah with the long hair got money from you, from project funds, so that people know,’ Greafik stated. The defendant Sudewo is known to be the inactive Regent of Pati, who is also charged with extorting prospective village officials.
Following the hearing, the media further confirmed the allegation regarding Gus Miftah receiving funds from the JGSS 1 project. ‘We obtained quite clear testimony from witness Dheky. As the PPK, he received a sum of money from a contractor. From there, we received information that the money circulated widely, one portion of which went to Gus Miftah in the amount of Rp100 million,’ Greafik said.
