Gus Ipul Urges Social Welfare Institutions Not Only to Serve but Also to Build Credibility
Gus Ipul also stressed the importance of updating the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) as a data base for implementing social welfare programmes, including those carried out by LKS.
“So one of my tasks with the Governor, with Regents/Mayors through their respective Social Services is to update the data. This is an instruction from the President, everyone can participate,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Sunday (10/5/2026).
The statement was delivered at the Dialogue between the Minister of Social Affairs and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa with the Forum of Social Welfare Institutions across East Java Province at the Hayam Wuruk Meeting Room, East Java Provincial Government Office, Surabaya, yesterday.
Furthermore, Gus Ipul explained that there are two data update channels. The first is through the formal channel, starting from RT/RW and the Village Head or Sub-District Head, then to the District/City Social Services and Province, and determined by the Regional Head.
“We have already provided a special channel, called the SIKS-NG application. This application serves as a connector between Village Operators, Social Services Operators, and also the Ministry of Social Affairs Operators,” explained Gus Ipul.
In addition to the formal channel, there is a participation channel that can be accessed by anyone, through the Cek Bansos application, Call Centre, or WhatsApp Centre.
Gus Ipul also invited LKS managers to build credibility through the accreditation process. In this way, the institutions can build collaborations and partnerships with various parties, including philanthropic institutions, without always depending on state budgets.
“Therefore, on this good occasion, I want to invite all LKS managers, let us make our institutions credible,” said Gus Ipul.
In the future, Gus Ipul hopes that this meeting with LKS managers can produce joint action plans that have an impact and can improve services, by carrying out revitalisation, accreditation, and strengthening human resources.
“So that LKS can truly serve well those who need social services,” he added.
Meanwhile, the East Java Provincial Secretary Adhy Karyono expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Social Affairs regarding the issuance of Minister of Social Affairs Regulation Number 5 of 2024 on Social Welfare Institutions.
“This means that the Minister is truly focused on how to revive and pay attention to our strategic partners,” said Adhy.
In line with that, Adhy Karyono also emphasised the importance of data identification, accreditation, and standardisation of LKS services.
“After being well accredited, we must ensure that what is done by LKS meets the standards of social activity implementation,” he said.
