Jakarta – Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, will meet with the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for an audience on Friday morning, 8 May 2026.

During the opportunity, Gus Ipul will also explain the procedures for procuring goods and services at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), including for the People’s School programme.

“We, along with the Deputy Minister and the Secretary General, will pay a visit to the KPK for a friendly meeting to seek advice and input. At the same time, we will provide information about the procurement processes within the Ministry of Social Affairs,” said Gus Ipul to reporters on Thursday, 7 May 2026.

The audience was originally scheduled for Thursday but was later rescheduled to Friday, 8 May 2026.

Gus Ipul stated that he does not yet know whether he will meet directly with the KPK leadership or not.

“It was planned for today, but postponed to tomorrow at 10:00. We’ll see tomorrow,” he said.

He only emphasised that his side will be open to providing all the information needed by the KPK, including regarding the implementation of goods and services procurement that has been carried out or is still in process at Kemensos at present.

One of the pieces of information to be conveyed is regarding the procurement of goods for the People’s School Programme.

Gus Ipul also assured that the entire procurement process for shoes for People’s School (SR) students through the 2025 and 2026 state budget has been carried out through a transparent, professional mechanism, and in accordance with the allocated budget.

“Of course through the established procedures. The procurement mechanism. The responsible parties are the PPK or the Pokja. The process was followed, and the winner is naturally the one with the lowest price that meets the set standards,” he said.

He emphasised that the price determination went through market survey and consultation stages before being set as the budget ceiling, and the tender winner is the party offering the most competitive price while still meeting the specifications and technical standards.
